Campfest 2019, our 6th biennial event, will be held on Friday 12th July and we really hope your family are planning to come along and join in the fun! This year's theme is 'Space' to celebrate 50 years since the first moon landing.
Held on Box Recreation ground, Campfest is our very own mini festival where all the Box Primary children are invited to take part by either performing, getting creative with our theme, making flags, running stalls and much more. Members of the organising team have taken a couple of school assemblies recently to let the children know all about it. It would be wonderful if parents encourage and support their children in whatever they have chosen to do.
Tickets & Food Orders
Tickets can be ordered via https://forms.gle/gkjnzGa6P1uMvKue8 and payment will be set up on the School Gateway system a couple of days later. Tickets cost £10 for 2 people and £15 for 3 or more family members. You can pre-order a delicious meal at the same time (any food orders need to be placed by 8th July to avoid missing out!).
Food is being provided by Yak Yeti Yak and all profits from food sales go to the YYY Foundation; this local charity raises funds for rebuilding and equipping schools for poor and marginalised communities in Nepal (find out more about their work - www.yyyfoundation.com/)
Breakfast will be available on Saturday morning and does not need to be pre-ordered. This will include a selection of bacon rolls, veggie sausages, cereals, juice, tea and coffee.
The Campfest team has been organised by founders Al & Sharon, with Caroline as lead, and the ongoing help of many parents. The team has heaps of exciting ideas up their sleeves designed to involve absolutely all children and their families. From art and craft to trying your hand at face painting, our aim is to make Campfest a very special and memorable evening out for all! So, if your child is not a budding performer, no need to worry, simply come along and enjoy the fun.
We have in place several teams working together to make the event a continual success, if you would like to offer some help, ideas or support, please contact Caroline or Katy in the playground.
There is is a sign-up sheet, for parent help on the stalls, in school reception - please do pop your name down if you are happy to help for 30 minutes.
Although called auditions these are really a run through for the children and for us to get an idea of the acts so we can plan a great show. It also gives us an opportunity to encourage and give support and guidance for their rehearsals. These took place at school on Wednesday 12th June and we had a fantastic response so the programme for the night is packed with a real variety of acts, along with the whole class song performances.
We have our very own Campfest T-shirt for sale. It’s a bit of a collector’s item! Every year it is in the colour of a sports day team. This year’s colour is blue. The deadline to order t-shirts for this year was Monday 24th June.
