    Published 13/01/23, by Lottie Long

In the coming weeks, both year 4 and 5 children will be moving onto multiplication and division in maths. For them to be able to access the methods and have a deep understanding of the reasoning they need to have a secure knowledge of their times tables.

Therefore, for their homework this week they need to refresh their times tables.

All the year 5s did superbly in their multiplication test last year, so they just need to practise and consolidate their timetables!

All year 4s are doing amazingly and are becoming more and more confident with their times tables - however it is important that they keep practising to be ready for their multiplication test in June.

Below are links to practise timetables and I have also attached examples of physical ways they can practise.

Times tables memory game – Timestables.co.uk

    Times tables shooting – Timestables.co.uk

Hit the Button - Quick fire maths practise for 6-11 year olds (topmarks.co.uk)

Coconut Multiples - Reinforce Times Tables (topmarks.co.uk)

The most important resource, is TTRockstars - please ensure the children are completing 'soundchecks' regularly to increase their rapid recall.
