Year 4 Braeside

Photo to follow

Our Year 4s have had a great end of the week: spending three days on residential at Braeside! After a long journey that felt like they had travelled to the other side of the country, they arrived in Devizes and began their first adventure: a walk along the canal. They spotted canal boats going through locks, loads of birds and stopped for a delicious picnic looking at the water. Back at the house, they settled into their rooms happily before heading to dinner. Dinner was a very sophisticated affair with pasta, jacket potatoes and an award for the best behaved table! The evening activities included a nightline- moving blindfolded through the forest- sounds terrifying! Although the instructor had a bit of fun- telling them that there was a branch that they had to crawl under when there wasn’t! The children are slept very well- and they needed to because Thursday included the long hike- made even longer by a diversion! Miss French and Mrs Iacono were very impressed with how everyone coped. Thursday evening activities include low ropes and then the highlight of the trip on Friday- cooking their own lunch on a fire! Beans, mushrooms, eggs and sausages are the usual fare- if the children can find enough firewood and start their own fire. Fingers crossed!
