Inspiring truthfulness

What a final week- day- of term! There’s been so much going on there’s not space to write it all down. To start with, what a brilliant assembly by Beech Class! They showed real calmness of mind to adapt to the last minute change of venue. They acted out the story of the Chinese emperor superbly- with wonderful musical highlights. It was full of joy and an important message that telling the truth is always the best course of action even it may be more difficult in the short term. We were blown away by their wonderful poetry too- beautifully written and decorated.

To top it all off, Chestnut and Sycamore Class were visited by local MP Brian Mathew. Brian answered all of our questions about life as an MP, how becoming an MP was almost preordained and, of course, his favourite football team- which turns out is really a rugby team. We were told fascinating stories, as well as key explanations as to what he is actively doing to support causes that we are passionate about. We were also given top tips as to how to make it as a politician! (Have a good idea that can make the world a better place and get people to agree with you!) Sounds like we have a few budding politicians already!

Have a great holiday and see you on Monday 24th February.
