We are the champions!

Sports competitions are back in full swing and we are incredibly proud of every child who has taken part so far.

Our football team had to survive two set of penalties, including one that went to sudden death: the stress of which has aged Mrs Stevenson 10 years! The team members however, kept their cool and emerged victorious in both-it was reported that the sudden death was won by a cool chip to the top corner.

Our cross-country team, 43 children strong, returned to school with a new trophy to be displayed proudly in the school entrance. They proved the quote that "The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team." with no individual wins but an incredibly strong team performance, where all scores counted. Special congratulations to children who came 3rd, 4th, 6th and 11th: a magnificent feat considering there were over 250 runners from across Wiltshire.

Not all success though has been in sport: a team of Year 5 and 6 children went to the Primary Maths Challenge and competed against our cluster schools in a variety of maths problem-solving challenges. Their dedication, teamwork and quick thinking earned them 2nd place!

Of course, although we all appreciate a humblebrag it isn't about the winning, it is all about the taking part and each event develops the interpersonal and intrapersonal skills of all involved. And, is.......well.... fun!
