Oh no it's a Gruffalo!

A teacher took a stroll through the Ash Class wood. The teacher saw their work, and their work looked good!

If you haven't guessed already, the new topic for Ash Class is The Gruffalo! The classroom has been transformed into a magical woodland and traces of footprints found on the floor suggest that even the Gruffalo itself made an appearance!

The children are fluent and expressive in telling the story and have been working hard on writing a retell. It's amazing to see the Reception children applying their phonics learning to writing. The Year 1s have written the most that they've ever written and weren't even complaining of sore hands!

Their clay models look incredible too- complete with prickles all over his back and poisonous warts on the end of his nose.

If you take a walk into the Ash Class wood, beware the Gruffalo-  I've heard his favourite food is parent risotto!
