In guided reading this term we are reading Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson. This week, we read chapter 3. For your homework I would like you to recreate the scene near the beginning of chapter 3 where Maia meets the Carter family for the first time. You could draw, paint, use technology, Lego- anything. When you have recreated the scene, I would like you to label the key things that you have included, using quotes from the text.

For example, ‘a low, wooden house painted the same dark green as the boat, with a veranda running its length’.
